The new DAC80 range is defined by its high Imax parameter of 80 kA. Classified in Type 2, the products of this range are intended to be installed inside the main electrical panel. Its Imax setting of 80 kA makes the DAC80 recommended for installations located in areas susceptible to very strong lightning strikes. Thanks to its very high discharge capacity, this range will have a longer service life than conventional AC surge protection of Type 2 with Imax @ 40 kA. The electrical diagram of the DAC80 series consists of a block of two high-energy varistors combined with a single thermal disconnect system. CITEL is the only manufacturer to offer a complete range of products reaching such a high Imax. The products comply with EN 61643-11, IEC 61643-11 and UL1449 ed.5.
