CITEL protection kits - Type 1 Surge protection + Fuse

The international standard IEC 61643-11, which defines surge protective devices (SPDs) for low-voltage networks, requires safe and controlled end-of-life behavior of SPDs. Thus, to guarantee/ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance to the standards, a relevant protection against short-circuit failures (fuse or breaker) must be installed in the branch of the SPD. The fuse to be selected is declared by the SPD manufacturer.

In order to simplify the choice of external protection, the new CITEL online shop offers a "Protection KIT" intended for the protection of electrical equipment connected to a low-voltage network, which may be subject to high currents.

They include a Type 1+2 pluggable surge protector for AC networks with a very high power rating (12.5kA @8/20µs) and an operating voltage ranging from 275 or 440 Vac, associated with a specific fuse. Kits are available in various installation configurations: Single-phase, 3-phase, 3-phase+Neutral. To ensure an excellent connection between the products, a busbar is included.
