The surge protection devices of the DLAWS1 series protect I&C, telecommunication and data technology systems against lightning effects and overvoltages. These surge protectors were developed for the protection of one twin wire and can be used for all applications with voltages from 6 V to max. 48 V and transmission rates of up to 10 Mbps. The electrical circuitry of the DLAS consists of a combination of high-performance gas discharge tubes and fast-switching diodes for high discharge capacity and fast response. The shield connection is additionally earthed via a gas discharge tube. Earthing is simply done via the top-hat rail. When the plug-in module is disconnected, the transmission signal is interrupted. Error signalling is via an optical display.
